We were very excited today to begin our new Fiber Arts program. We held a sewing class at The Homewood Residence, and the residents made lovely fabric pouches they can use to hold all kinds of personal items. Those with vision and dexterity challenges were assisted, so that everyone could participate. The residents loved their creations!

 Many thanks to the DeJohn Community Center for hosting our Introduction to Holistic Health Care program for the active seniors who attend the center. The participants learned about the benefits of yoga, Tai Chi, massage, Reiki and meditation. We explained how these practices can help to heal us holistically – body, mind and spirit. They had lots of good questions afterwards!

 Lots of smiles today when Lucy the therapy dog came to visit with the seniors at The Slovene Home. Everyone learned about the training program that therapy dogs go through, and everyone got a chance to pet Lucy and give her a treat. Lucy was a very happy girl!

 Great turnout today for our yoga class at The Jennings Center for Older Adults. The senior residents and our guests from the Board of Developmental Disabilities learned some yoga moves to keep their bodies healthy, and some breathing and meditation practices to keep their minds and spirits at ease.

 We had a wonderful gathering today the The Homewood Residence. The senior residents and our guests from the Board of Developmental Disabilities brought their favorite recipes to class and talked about the memories associated with them. We made two of the recipes for everyone to share.
