8/16/15 – Interpersonal Relationships
We had a great discussion group today at the Cedar Center Apartments. We talked about the potential for stress in interpersonal relationships, and ways that we can reduce that stress. We reviewed ways that we can change our own thinking and behavior, as well as ways that we can communicate our needs to others. Each participant left with a personalized “action plan” for improving a particular personal relationship in their lives.

8/19/15 – Pieces of My Life
Residents at the McGregor Home joined with guests form the Board of Developmental Disabilities for a fun class designed to help them get to know each other better. Each participant brought items that are meaningful to them, then told the story about each item. There were some wonderful stories and group sharing!

Many thanks to Home Care Assistance for inviting me to speak at their employee appreciation event. The group learned about Ethical Wills – what they are and how to write them. Most importantly, we discussed several subjects that were meaningful to them and helped define who they are and what they believe in.

Residents of Brookdale Rockefeller’s memory care unit joined with guests from the Board of Developmental Disabilities for a fun and educational cooking class. We made two vegetarian recipes and discussed the health benefits of a vegetarian diet.
