Many thanks to Senior Independence Hospice for sponsoring a fun day at The Waterford at Richmond Heights. We coordinated with the volunteers from Lake Metroparks to bring an owl, a hawk, a turkey vulture, a turtle and an opossum to visit with the folks at The Waterford. They learned facts about the animals, as well as how the animals are being rehabilitated by the volunteers.

Many thanks to Aetna Insurance for sponsoring my “Architectural History of Cleveland” slideshow at the Sherrie Park independent living apartments in Lyndhurst. The residents learned about important building in Cleveland history from the 1880’s to 1930. They really enjoyed the trip down memory lane!
4/5/13 – An exciting day at Brentwood Health Care Center
An exciting day at Brentwood Health Care Center in Sagamore Hills! We brought in a pony and a miniature horse to visit with the residents. They were able to come inside the building, and the residents got to pet them and learn about them. Lots of fun and lots of smiles!
3/27/13 – The Village at Marymount
Thanks to The Village at Marymount for inviting me in to give my “Making Lemonade from Lemons” presentation to their residents. They learned tools for maintaining peace and optimism despite the challenges they are facing in their lives.
1/28/13 – The National Senior Games in Cleveland
Cleveland will be hosting the National Senior Games in July of this year! In preparation, the NSGA is hosting a year-long series of community programs in celebration of senior health and vitality. I was very honored to speak with a group of about 90 seniors at one of these events. In my “Making Lemonade from Lemons” presentation I gave them tools for remaining healthy, active and optimistic despite the changes and losses that aging can bring. It was a wonderful pep rally! Learn more about the games here http://www.nsga.com
