The folks in my music singalong classes at the Board of Developmental Disabilities have really been enjoying the songs – singing, clapping and even making requests! One of the songs we did today was “Lean On Me” by Bill Withers, and it was amazing how it touched them. They had the whole building singing along!
10/22/13 – PNG Meeting
I was very grateful for the opportunity to give my “Turning Lemons Into Lemonade” presentation at the monthly PNG meeting this morning. About 60 people who work with senior adults were in attendance. They learned tools for helping the seniors in their care maintain optimism, happiness and peace despite the challenges, loss and grief they are facing.
10/15/13 – Senior Independence
Many thanks to Senior Independence for sponsoring our “Making Lemonade From Lemons” presentation today at The Hamlet in Chagrin Falls. The residents learned tools for making the best of the situations they are facing, and how to remain happy and optimistic despite life’s challenges. It was a great honor to share this with them.
9/17/13 – Singalong at the Lifecare Center
Lots of fun today at The Lifecare Center of Westlake. We did a singalong with the folks in their nursing and rehab units. We sang memorable songs from earlier eras and talked about the histories behind each song. Everyone either sang, played a percussion instrument, tapped their toes, or all of the above!
9/9/13 – The Second Edition of The East Cleveland Express
Our second edition of The East Cleveland Express was published today by my Journalism class at the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities East Cleveland Adult Activity Center. I am so proud of my five reporters for their focus, dedication and hard work putting together the interviews and artwork.
