Many thanks to the folks at McGregor for inviting me out to do a sing-along with their residents. We did some great old time songs, as well as some patriotic songs to get ready for the 4th of July!
6/27/14 – Annual Picnic
Lots of fun today at the Board of Developmental Disabilities annual picnic. They had a “country” theme and invited me to perform. I traveled from classroom to classroom with my guitar, singing classic country songs. Everyone had a great time!
6/25/14 – Health Talk Series
Another great group attended our ongoing health talk series at Aberdeen Crossings Assisted Living. Today we talked about ways to reduce the stress that can sometimes come with aging. The students learned how to make their retirement years calm and stress-free.
6/23/14 – The Cleveland Institute of Music
The Director of Performance and Community Programs at the Cleveland Institute of Music visited our Journalism class today at the Board of Developmental Disabilities.The students learned about the programs that CIM offers, and the local student performances that they can go to.
6/4/14 – Youngstown State University
Many thanks to the employee assistance department at Youngstown State University for inviting me to give a talk on Gratitude Journaling to their faculty and staff. I helped them understand how this practice has a very powerful effect on happiness and optimism, and gave them tools for incorporating it into their busy lives.
