Lucy the therapy dog visited with the residents at The Slovene Home today. She brought smiles to the faces of everyone who saw her. There wasn’t enough of little Lucy to go around!

 We had a wonderful day of memories and sharing today at The Homewood Residence. The seniors brought photos and other precious mementos to the group, and told the stories behind them. They explained why each one was important to them. We learned a lot about each other that we didn’t know before! And we also learned how much we have in common.

 Today was the final day of our week-long Collaborative Writing Project at The Jennings Center for Older Adults. We have been discussing three topics – “How to Live a Happy Life”, “How to Raise a Good Child” and “Religious Freedom”. Each resident contributed their opinions and experiences. Today we worked on a poetry project and the residents wrote some wonderful pieces, despite the fact that none of them had ever written poetry before!

 Our bi-weekly meditation class continued today at the R.H. Myers Apartments in Beachwood. We discussed Mayo Clinic studies about the benefits of meditation, and we practiced  Guided Imagery and Gratitude Meditation. We discussed easy ways to incorporate meditation into your life.

 Today was massage day at The Slovene Home. A relaxing massage was given to help reduce stress, ease muscle tension, and keep bodily functions operating properly. The feedback – “Heavenly!”, “That felt so good!”, and “I want another one!”
